Map of six southern states (Maryland, Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia) plus the Tennessee Government area and other land east of the Mississippi River, shows cities and towns, mountain ranges, rivers, large lakes, and creeks. Land north of the Ohio River between the Scioto and Little Miami Rivers is described as "Donation Lands from the Commonwealth of Virginia." Printed below the title, "by J. Russell." According to the collector's notes, this map was published by H. D. Symonds in London in 1795. It was also used to illustrate William Winterbotham's "An Historical, Geographical, Commercial and Philosophical View of the American United States and of the European Settlements in America and the West Indies" in 1795.
